SRPNT vs. Ultra Bee vs. Talaria Komodo
Everybody who wants a real off-road e-moto ends up looking at a Sur-Ron or a Talaria first — they're the names. Then they see the price, or the six-week wait, or the "assembly required," and they start asking questions. So here's the honest side-by-side, from a dealer who actually stocks the alternative and would rather you buy the right bike than the loudest one.

The "Sur-Ron class" — that 50-to-80 mph, 19-inch-wheel, forged-frame category of electric dirt bike — has exploded, and the two bikes everyone name-drops are the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee and the brand-new Talaria Komodo. Both are genuinely good machines. We're not going to pretend otherwise.

But "the name everyone knows" and "the bike you should actually buy" aren't always the same thing. The SRPNT line — built by Throne on forged aluminum with motorcycle-spec running gear — comes in three flavors, and unit for unit it gives you the same capability (and in a couple of cases, more) for less money, without the box-in-the-driveway routine. Let's put real numbers next to real numbers.

The SRPNT Lineup
Three bikes · one platform · pick your level

The whole point of the SRPNT range is that it's a range. The Ultra Bee and the Komodo each ask you to buy one bike and hope it fits. SRPNT lets you match the machine to the rider.

SRPNT X3
Throne · The Approachable One
~$4,699
Starting
13 kW peak72V · 38.4Ah LG~60 mph33.5" seat · 160 lb

The lightest and friendliest SRPNT — 160 pounds, a 33.5-inch seat, 200mm of inverted fork travel, and a 72V/38.4Ah LG pack that still pushes it to 60. It's the one a newer rider, a smaller frame, or a trail-first buyer can actually flat-foot and manhandle, and it undercuts every bike on this page by at least a thousand dollars.

Best for  the rider who wants into the Sur-Ron class without the Sur-Ron weight, height, or price tag.
SRPNT X8
Throne · The All-Rounder
~$5,099
Starting
18 kW (24 hp)72V · 60Ah LG · 4,320Wh70 mph34.6" seat · 210 lb

This is the one that quietly beats the standard Ultra Bee at its own game. 18 kW, a 70 mph top end, and a big 60Ah / 4,320Wh LG battery — more power, more speed, and more range than a base Ultra Bee, for roughly $900 less. Full 240mm inverted fork, KKE linkage rear, 19/18 wheels on Shinko-style dual-sport rubber, real motorcycle brakes. It's the do-everything bike in the range.

Best for  the rider cross-shopping an Ultra Bee who wants the same size machine with more punch and money left over.
SRPNT Z27
Throne · The Flagship
~$5,699
Starting
27 kW (36.2 hp)72V · 60Ah Samsung80 mph34.6" seat · 210 lb

The fast one. 27 kW, 36.2 horsepower, and a genuine 80 mph top speed — the highest number on this entire page, Komodo included — riding on a 60Ah Samsung pack, 240mm inverted fork, KKE link rear, and a 65-degree climb rating. Same forged-aluminum frame and moto-spec brakes as the X8, just turned all the way up. This is the SRPNT that makes Sur-Ron owners quiet.

Best for  the experienced rider who wants top-of-class speed and doesn't want to pay Komodo money to get it.

* Being straight with you: the Ultra Bee ships in trims from ~12.5 kW up to a ~24.5 kW "HP" version, and the Talaria Komodo's 32 kW is the biggest peak number here. We're not hiding that. But read the whole row — even the hopped-up Ultra Bee tops out around 50 mph and costs more than a Z27, and the Komodo's extra kilowatts come on a heavier, taller, 96-volt bike that just launched. Peak wattage is one number. Buying decisions are the whole table.
Where the SRPNT Actually Wins
1   It's faster at the top for less money

The Z27's 80 mph is the highest top speed on this page — quicker than the Komodo (65) and comfortably past the Ultra Bee (~50) — and it does it at $5,699, the same as the Komodo and $300 under the Ultra Bee. If flat-out speed is what you're chasing, the fastest bike here is also one of the cheapest.

2   The mid bike outguns the benchmark

The one most people should buy is the X8. At ~$5,099 it makes more power (18 kW), more speed (70 mph), and carries a bigger 4,320Wh battery than a standard Ultra Bee — while costing about $900 less. That's not a spec you have to squint at. That's more bike for less money, in the exact same size class.

3   Bigger batteries, simpler system

The X8 and Z27 both run 72V/60Ah packs — more amp-hours than the Komodo's 45Ah — using name-brand LG and Samsung cells. And 72 volts is a proven, easy-to-service standard. The Komodo's 96V system makes big power but it's a newer, higher-voltage platform with fewer people who know how to fix it. More range, fewer headaches.

4   A range, not a guess

Ultra Bee and Komodo each sell you one bike. SRPNT gives you three — a 160-pound, 33.5-inch X3 for a newer or smaller rider, the do-it-all X8, and the 80 mph Z27 — all on the same forged frame and parts family. You buy the bike that fits you, not the one the catalog had.

The Part That Doesn't Fit in a Spec Sheet
  • You can't ship a dealer in a box. Order a Sur-Ron or Talaria online and it arrives in a crate for you to assemble, with warranty support that lives on a phone tree in another state. Buy a SRPNT from us and it's built, checked, and ready to ride.
  • You can throw a leg over it first. Come test-sit all three, feel the seat height and weight, and find out which one actually fits before you spend five grand — not after.
  • We service what we sell. Right here in SE Houston. Flat, brake bleed, controller question, a rock through your fender six months from now — you have a shop, not a shipping label.
  • Financing that gets you riding now. We finance the SRPNT line, so the Z27 you want doesn't have to wait for the money you're saving over the Ultra Bee.
So Which One?

New to it, smaller frame, trail-first? The X3 — lightest, lowest, friendliest, cheapest. Cross-shopping an Ultra Bee and want the smart-money pick? The X8 — more bike, less cash. Want the fastest thing on the page? The Z27 — 80 mph, forged frame, Samsung cells, still under Ultra Bee money.

The Ultra Bee and the Komodo earned their reputations, and if one of them is the bike for you, we'll tell you so. But if you want that same capability without the premium, the wait, or the driveway assembly, the SRPNT that fits you is sitting on our floor right now.
