2026 Christmas Electric Dirt Bike Buyers Guide Houston Buyers

Here's the thing nobody tells you about electric dirt bikes: the fun part is easy. It's everything that happens after you hand over your money that separates a great buy from a regret.
We stock the three brands worth stocking โ Strike Shadow and SRPNT (both from Throne), and Electro & Co / ETM out of California. Between them we've got something like fifteen models, from a first bike a nine-year-old can grow into all the way up to a 92-volt pit bike that Electro literally calls the fastest in the world. That's a huge spread, and the wrong pick for a rider isn't just a waste of money โ on these things it can be genuinely dangerous. So below, we've laid every bike out by the three numbers that actually matter when you're choosing: power, top speed, and seat height. Then we tell you, straight, who each one is for.
You're going to find off-brand bikes cheaper somewhere. Marketplace, some guy's garage, a random site with a too-good price. We're not going to pretend otherwise. But here's what we've watched happen to people who go that route: the bike shows up, something's off, and the seller has vanished. No warranty. No parts when a controller or a battery finally gives out. Nobody to call. And on an electric bike, a single dead part you can't source turns the whole thing into a very expensive lawn ornament.
That's honestly the whole reason to buy from a real shop, and we'll say it plainly because it's the truth: we're still here after the sale. Warranty support, real parts, help getting it set up right, and an actual person on the other end of the phone next month and next year. We've got a storefront you can walk into. The garage seller doesn't. That's the difference, and on these bikes it's a big one.
Alright โ the lineup. ๐
The most affordable way in, and a genuinely great first bike. It's light, it's quiet, and it's dead simple โ twist the throttle and go, no clutch, no gears to figure out. If you're buying for a kid or a first-timer and you want them building confidence instead of getting overwhelmed, this is the one.
Think of the LX4 as the dressed-up 48V. A little more power, better LG battery cells, real KKE suspension, and that gold-accent Gold Series look that turns heads. Still light, still low, still easy to handle โ you're paying for nicer components and styling, and if that matters to your rider, it's worth it.
This is the sleeper of the Gold Series. The LX6 is the first LX to move up to full-size 17"/14" wheels, and it bumps power to 5,500W โ so you get the premium gold styling and LG cells of the LX line, but with the bigger-wheel stability that makes a real difference at speed. At a 30.5" seat it fits bigger riders than the LX4, too. Genuinely one of the better-balanced bikes we carry.
If you asked us to pick one bike for the average adult or teen rider, it'd probably be this one. The 60V SX runs full-size 17"/14" wheels and a strong 5,000W motor, and it just does everything well โ quick enough to be fun, stable enough to feel planted, priced right in the middle. It's our best-seller for a reason.
The top of the Shadow range. 7,000W, the highest top speed of the line, and โ the part that actually matters โ premium FastAce suspension front and rear. That upgraded damping is worth real money if you're riding aggressively and landing jumps. If you're not, the 60V SX probably covers you. If you are, you'll feel the difference immediately.
The easiest way into the RTR family without stepping down in quality. It's a real pit bike โ three selectable power modes, a hot-swappable battery you can expand later โ just in a more approachable, more affordable package. Perfect for someone moving up from a mini bike who wants the real thing but isn't ready for the big-power models yet.
Be honest โ this is the one the kids are going to lose their minds over. Wild looks, a name that basically sells itself, and built-in stunt pegs and a foothold for wheelies. The smart part is the three power modes: start it mellow while they're learning, then unlock more as they get good. It grows with the rider instead of getting outgrown by spring.
Same Rizzler DNA, cranked way up. A full 72V system, 8,000W, and 60 mph on tap, on a beefed-up chassis built to take repeated abuse. Wheelies come easier and hold longer, and it stays composed when things get fast. This one is not a starter โ it's for someone who already knows what they're doing and wants the Rizzler turned all the way loose.
This is the bike that built the RTR name. 8,000W, 55+ mph, and a proven race-ready chassis that's aggressive and responsive without being twitchy. It's the sweet spot of the RTR pit bike line โ enough power to keep an experienced rider grinning, in a package that's still manageable at a 30" seat.
The RTR Sport's bigger brother, built for riders who want room to stretch out. Everything's longer โ the wheelbase, the swingarm, the tail โ and it rolls on full-size 17"/14" wheels, so it feels planted and full-size instead of cramped. 16,000W and 65+ mph means it's seriously quick, but the 32" seat and stretched geometry are really about comfort and stability for a taller rider.
Okay โ this is the halo bike. Electro flat-out calls the Alpha the fastest pit bike in the world, and the spec sheet backs up the talk: a 92-volt system, 18,000W, 70+ mph, and basically every part CNC-machined and upgraded from the factory. Triple clamps, hubs, peg mounts, race-grade DNM suspension front and rear โ the whole point is that there's nothing left to upgrade. It shows up fully loaded and fully race-ready. This is not a bike you grow into. It's a bike you earn.
And now for something completely different. This is a dedicated electric drift kart โ low-traction drift sleeves included, forward and reverse, three power levels, and replaceable bumpers all the way around because it's built to be thrown at walls and driven hard. Adjustable seat and steering so different-size drivers can hop in. It's ridiculous, and it's one of the most fun things we've ever had on the floor.
The bike that put SRPNT on the map, and still a serious machine. Forged aluminum frame, up to 13,000W, a big 72V 40Ah LG battery for real range, proper 200mm inverted forks and KKE rear linkage, and a TFT display with three power modes. This is a true dirt bike with real dirt bike geometry โ not an e-bike wearing a costume.
A step up into serious mid-size territory. 18,000W, 24 horsepower, 70 mph, and a huge 72V 60Ah LG battery โ with forged aluminum, moto-spec brakes, KKE suspension, and full-size 19"/18" wheels. It's sized like a 125cc race bike: bigger and more capable than the lightweight stuff, but still way more manageable than a full 250. A lot of riders find this the perfect middle ground.
The most powerful thing we carry, no asterisks. 27,000W, 36 horsepower, and an 80 mph top speed, running a 72V 60Ah Samsung battery and a forged aluminum chassis. 240mm forks, KKE rear linkage, real motorcycle brakes, full-size wheels. This makes more horsepower than some gas bikes โ which is exactly why it's for expert riders only. If this is your bike, you already know it.

- Match the power and seat height to the rider โ not to your budget. This is the big one. Too much bike isn't a fun surprise, it's a hospital trip. Use the table and size to the person.
- Wrap the gear too. Helmet's not optional. Add gloves, boots, and eye protection, and the gift feels finished instead of half-done.
- Lean on the power modes. A bunch of these (Rizzler, RTR Lite, the whole SRPNT line) start in a lower mode and unlock more as skills grow. That's a real safety feature for a rider leveling up โ use it.
- Remember these are off-road only. None of them are street legal. Have a plan for where they'll ride before the wrapping paper's on the floor (see below).
- Be there for the first rides. That's where the good habits get set. Keep it fun, keep it supervised early, and it pays off.
Simplest option there is. Private land with permission is always the safest, cheapest, ride-on-your-own-schedule bet for off-road machines like these.
A huge chunk of public forest just north of Houston with designated trail systems. It's a popular spot for off-road riders โ check current OHV/trail rules and any permits, and confirm electric bikes are welcome on the trails you're eyeing before you go.
A Conroe-area MX and off-road park north of town, a longtime staple for the dirt scene. Call ahead on hours, day passes, and whether e-bikes run on the tracks.
There are motocross tracks on the south and east side of the metro that have long served local riders. Worth checking current operating status, practice days, and pricing before heading out.
